SHIFT LEADER - 21+

The basic function of a Shift Leader is to be the primary leader on a shift and hold the shop up to the Carmel Creamery brand standards by embodying our Core Values inside and outside of work.
 

  • Must be 21+ years old

  • Must be able to commit to at least 6 months - May - October - with training in April

  • Availability to work a minimum of 4 shifts / 20 hours a week, Thursday - Sunday afternoon/evenings, and some holidays.

  • Must be able to float between all areas of the shop - ice cream scooping and milkshakes, espresso bar, lite fried food.

  • Ability to multi-task and work on projects simultaneously

  • Dedication to impacting results with a "whatever it takes" attitude

  • Excellent interpersonal communication skills

  • High attention to detail

  • Must have a reliable mode of transportation to and from work

  • Availability to attend mandatory biweekly manager meetings

  • Excellent communication skills on and off shifts with your team and upper management
     

As the Shift Leader, you are responsible for the following tasks.

  • Managing a team of employees during the shift

  • Assisting in training and development of new hires

  • Cash handling and reporting

  • Ensuring Core Values are upheld by team

  • Ensuring highest standard of guest service

  • Meeting and exceeding all aspects of health and safety of the team

  • Serving as a role model on the team--both behind the counter and behind the scenes

  • Upholding our policies by having disciplinary conversations with team members as necessary

  • Offering exceptional availability & sticking to a consistent weekly schedule

  • Excelling in mature, professional, prompt communication between the staff and leadership–both inside and outside of work

  • Leading/guiding/redirecting the team in keeping the shop and guest service up to the Carmel Creamery brand standard

  • Monitoring shop cleanliness both behind and in front of the counter as well as outside tables and backyard

  • Sending home team members when slow

  • Handling difficult guest situations

  • Taking supply & ice cream inventory at closing

  • Closing both drawers at closing

  • Opening/closing the shop and locking it up safely

  • Upholding our Core Values in everything they do

     

Possible to be a year-round position.

$18+ with experience plus tips and performance-based raises.

Ability to upgrade to assistant manager.

SCOOPERS / COUNTER HELP - 16+

We’re looking to SCOOP up a few talented people to join our team!

​

  • ​Must be 16+ with reliable transportation

  • Must be able to commit to the full summer - May - August

  • Must be available on the weekends - days/nights & holidays - Friday - Sunday

  • Additional evening shifts during the week may be available

  • Must be able to commit to more than 1 shift a week

  • Must have upbeat, outgoing and positive attitude with excellent communication skills

  • Must be a team player

  • Must be able to be on your feet for an extended amount of time and work at a fast pace

  • Ability to multi-task

  • Must be able to describe all flavors & full ingredients​

  • Must be able to use a POS system to properly ring customers out and handle money

  • Must be able to disconnect from cell phone while working

Pay depends on experience, plus tips
